I phoned Football Heaven last night and complained

asked what criteria they use-couldn't say-I made the point that Wednesday are safe-Rotherham and donny I can understand and maybe Sheff U but ours is the only game where something can change-ie we could go up to 3rd or fall out of the playoffs-didn't get a satisfactory answer-try phoning yourself tonight-01142796699

    Ah, so that was you.

    They were a bit dismissive.

    Hello Paul,

Huddersfield vs Barnsley is easily the match of the day. Quite a lot riding on it. I think a defeat for Barnsley tomorrow will end the chances of finishing second and could see us temporarily out of the playoffs. A win would put us in a VERY strong position.

On the other hand, Sheffield Utd are 6 points clear of second place and therefore tomorrows game will not really affect anyting. BBC Sheff admitted this during the program.

I also have an issue with the Rotherham & Doncaster game. They argued it was a Derby game (and it is obviously important for Rotherham). However, they didn't cover Barnsley vs Chesterfield recently did they?

Sheffield Weds should NOT be covered because it is a home fixture for them.

Having said all that, they promised to cover the Oldham game.

Is there a case for a Radio Barnsley ?

Here in Swindon (which is smaller than Barnsley in both area and population I think) there is a BBC station and an independent station (GWR) - commentary is available on their matches every week, home and away

Mine's just gone straight past 107.9

And I cant remember how to 'fine tune'. I'll be listening on barnsley world anyway but I was just talking about the people that havent got it. I think that after paying the same licence fee as the people of sheffield then the people of barnsley should be given the same standard of service.

I wish dearne fm would get their act together

And do what they promised when they were starting up. Full match coverage of all barnsley games was what they promised.

I firmly believe the local tv/radio media definately, purposefully

    avoid giving us publicity.

It is not in the interest of the piggies / l**ds for Barnsley to be in the news.

Having said that I am sure the club does little to help the situation.

    **** em anyrooadup.

Swindon is similar at any rate

Sheffield Wednesday are at home, those fans will be at hillsbrough attending the game

Barnsley are away in a local derby which is important to the season.

Radio Sheffield is a BBC licence fee funded station that is governed by certain rules and regulations. They are not supposed to be driven by higher listening figures but by providing a fair and equal coverage for all of its listeners.

I dont think radio rights work like that

But I am probably wrong. I read somewhere on the internet that more than one station can have full coverage but of course they have to pay for it.
