Look at them all. Tells its own story. Something at this club, stirring away beneath is just not right. O.K. some of these were ,"Stand - ins" BUT .......................................... Club needs a proven Coach, one with some credible back story like many, elsewhere ,who seem to be able to organise and coach,"modest" players into a far stronger unit. Whilst I think this is a ridiculous turnover, but where do we rank amongst our peers? Many people are posting about DC's sacking as if we are the only club that does this. It's Football! Things go wrong, and rightly or wrongly, the manager gets sacked. We're not unique in this aspect.
Kinda makes the headline stat a meaningless one when some of them were stand ins for a matter of 10 days. But I get the gist.
11 of em in the Conway era. Just saying. Sometimes following a kick in the b*ll*cks a quick count and a rub and your good to go. Other times and you may require surgery. For us it was the latter.
I discount any list that contains either interim managers or those that left us rather then sacked for being gash. Then it’s a lot less drastic.
YET one out of three of them all were sacked. This comes with an evident cost, money, which we are told ,cannot be afforded for player development/transfers in. Their time at the club is so ludicrously short, this is the crux of my point, not just in chronically inept player recruitment BUT ALSO in similalrly incompetent coaching recruitment.
That is an interesting question so i had a look and got these results: We've had 19 managers since 2015 Rotherham have had 9 managers since 2015 Sheff Weds have had 13 Bolton have had 8 Huddersfield have had 18 Charlton have had 15 Wycombe have had 4 Wigan have had 12 Peterborough have had 10 (3 separate times by Ferguson and 3 times by McCann which is mental)
This is what happens when your run the club like a discount warehouse that pays peanuts. Any half decent employee is able to get a better paid job elsewhere, and if you're not that good at the job with the terrible staff you have, you get sacked anyway. We may as well just rebrand ourselves as 'franchise fc' and have completely new staff and players each year - nearly do that anyway.
I count 5 that have moved on of there own doing and 6 in caretaker roles. Look 8 isn't great but not as bad as the bare facts who knows what would have happened if one of the decent ones had stayed abit longer.
Would live to know the sum of the payouts we have made on those managers sacked by the club Must run into the millions.
I If the club is being run like a discount warehouse and paying peanuts, yet is still reportedly losing several hundred thousands of pounds a month, I'd like to know how it would survive by paying MORE to players.
I think you do have to take into account managers that have left us as they all seem to want to leave asap. Have we ever had a manager linked with another club who’s chosen to stay? Obviously money plays a part but managers want their own staff & involvement in transfers. Our managers seem to have no faith in the people running the club.
Poor selection in a fair few of them, others were good choices but left for better an bigger clubs and obviously MONEY, without money the quality of Manager will always be adequate, get a good un an they'll be off as soon as a bigger better offer rolls in, it'll always be like that.
To put a little perspective on things, on those 19. 7 were caretakers. Hecky Burton Harsley Murray x2 Lauman Devaney 5 were offered jobs elsewhere. Johnson Hecky Strubher Val. Duff 6 sacked 1 Stendl ? We have been a good stepping stone for a few. I hope we got good compensation. But It's certainly a sad state of affairs and I'm not sure what the answer is. Stick a big release clause in. But that may have to include a more than ample salary. And pay off if fails.
