me too to be honest. the statement speaks volumes. not a single thank you or best wishes. this doesn't feel like an amicable split to me..
"Barnsley Football Club can today announce that Chief Executive Ben Mansford has left the Club to join Leeds United. The Board have appointed Linton Brown as acting Chief Executive and he will join the Board with immediate effect. A former professional footballer himself, Linton has built an impressive career off the field and boasts extensive experience within the football industry. Significant progress has been made commercially since joining the Club in 2014 with Linton being instrumental and very much the driving force behind the Club's recent success."
Yep I've got to agree that doesn't read of a amicable split, I'm guessing more will come out in the following weeks,
Most likely money talked. He's got balls though, working for crooked bleeder at Leeds of all places. Let's hope he can take them down in his first season there, too. Does this internal philosophy/structure extend beyond the coaching staff? Nobdy ever said owt about that.. So there'll be a marketing job going at Oakwell... anyone?
The issue is none of us know who exactly does what at the club so it's impossible to know whether he's done a good or bad job or somewhere in the middle so I don't really have a view on him leaving. I'll be glad to see the back of him in the sense of no longer listening to his interviews where they'd take about 10 minutes a time & he still didn't actually say anything.
I'm actually pretty angry at this though I am aware it is pointless feeling this way. Bigger club etc etc but it takes the wind out of your sails anyway. Real shame for us this and could be disastrous for recruitment etc. What a club to choose an all.
strange move for me. complete fubar of a club. bigger club though, without a doubt. he'll be networking the **** out of it..
