The first thing I thought of. If Caroline Lucas was a bloke who supped beer & gave loadsa soundbites that fit with the current agenda then she'd be all over TV. Instead she's a woman with morals & she's nowhere to be seen despite being the leader of a party with an MP for the last 4 years.
SHE HAS POLICIES?! That's the problem right there. In a way, I hope UKIP get in to see how those who voted for them handle having workers rights cut, NHS budgets slashed & actually do nothing to immigration.
I do not agree with television debates with leaders of parties. Farage will walk all over Slick Cameron and dull Ed. While Nick Clegg who lost the last round with him will come in second. So the television show will not give a true reflection of any of the parties. UKIP are taking the opportunity to say what people want to hear, but they have neither the skills or the ability to run a country and represent Britain on the International front. Woe be tide us if they ever got in.
That's how they're portrayed though isn't it. Maybe they need to be more controversial. Deport all SUV drivers or something. Then they'd get to be every second item on the news too.
And here is an example of the effects of the Green party not getting much media coverage - Caroline Lucas isn't the leader anymore, so stood down as leader in 2012. Natalie Bennett is the leader. (p.s. I had to google her name!)
No Respect Party or Scottish Nationalist or Ulster Unionists yet UKIP win a bye election and a few days later they are being touted by the media a major Parliamentary party.... Something dodgy going off big style
its the media trying for a bit of sensationialism. no way on this earth should farage be allowed on the tv debates theres no precedent for it and all the other partys should cite these attempts as television canvassing for ukip. farage makes policy up on the cuff so without a solid manifesto from them it would be pointless anyway. he avoids putting concrete proposals forward apart from europe so the interviewers cant scrutinise them. every significant ukip official interviewed has differing asperations for the way the party should proceed apart from something they cannot deliver I:e full withdrwall from europe.
Apparently the Green Party launched itself in Barnsley at the Old No7 on Friday neet according to their website, first av seen/heard abart it.
Saw it advertised before hand, knew about it a couple of weeks before - I should have posted it up on here.
ultimately farage should be allowed on tv, i reckon. there's always the risk that he might actually win more supporters. but that's democracy i guess, and one hopes he'll just make more people realise what a bigoted slippery lovely person he really is. stuff likes this just strengthens my resolve against diseases like UKIP. i voted green in the last by election. and i'm not a hippy, or a vegetarian, or a lesbian. i'm just sick to the fckin gonads of the options we have and the constant stream of lies they all peddle. and when the new kids on the block turn out to be UKIP, it just makes my pretty little head want to pop
