And we've already got four loan signings.

Absolute fooking ***** Barnsley. I can't even find the enthusiasm to say more than that.

I can see where your coming from Conan but maybe there may be 2 or 3 permanent signings coming in in the next few weeks which will redress the balance somewhat.
It's a new season and a clean slate as I see it so let's see what materialises.
I'm hoping for a more attack minded enterprising style of football.
I hope I'm not gunna be disappointed! !!

Loan signings should be there to plug a gap when you have fixture pile ups or a spate of injuries - not to build your team around.

I admit these signings have been necessary but that's only because our recruitment has been worse than feeble.

I reckon you must have a massive knob because if you are as boring off this forum as you are on it then the size of your tail must be the only thing going for you

I'm not a fan of us loaning loads of players either. But it is what it is. Cheap.

Hopefully they're all ace and we get promoted.

I reckon you must have an incredibly small brain. In fact I know you have. If you find what I post boring, then there's a really, really simple solution.

Let's be realistic. In 2015 if lower league clubs want quality it's going to be these players who would otherwise be in this league three they are clamouring for.

Then don't. Like you've said below.....there's a really really simple solution....just like what you've just said to the charming Judith.
As needs must. Loan signings not ideal but there is clearly a cohesive plan. Having seen young Crowley and knowing that he's from the most cultured club in the country I for one am v excited in seeing him wear the shirt.
Btw no response expected or required given that you have no enthusiasm.

Im sure LJ would have rather signed everyone on a permy deal and maybe he was a bit naive thinking he could but we aren't going to get the likes of Pearson and Crawly on perm deals. We've done very well to get Williams on a perm deal.
If all we have to moan about is that despite assembling what is starting to look like a very good squad (albeit one devoid of wingers & strikers to date) that 4 of them are on loan then we aren't doing too badly at all.

Its a long season and a lot will change between now and May 2016. The season isn't over at 5pm on 15-Aug.

Would you rather have signed 4 so-so players on perm deals or 4 players of the quality we have on loans?

I think it's inevitable in today's world and where we are. The risk is akin to that experienced with Drinkwater.

I'm disappointed that we're already building a squad with loans and we've not kicked a ball in the league yet. I don't know what our strategy is anymore but surely loans can't be seen as a long term plan. I hope they do well for us but this recruitment strategy seems to be at odds with what the club has been saying.

Drinkwater is a brilliant example of what happens when you build with loans.

Tell me about the funds we currently have to make permanent signings.

    Not necessarily

Look at Derby last season. Signed 9 players on loan for long-termish deals to improve their squad
Leon Best from Blackburn (half season from summer)
Omar Mascarell from Real Madrid (whole season)
Ryan Shotton from Stoke (half season from summer)
Jordan Ibe from Liverpool (half season from summer)
    Jack Butland from Stoke (emergency)
Darren Bent from Villa (half season from January)
Tom Ince from Hull & Jesse Lingard from Man Utd (half season from February)

Palace have signed Bamford on loan from Chelsea who have signed Falcao on loan from Monaco. Are they 'plugging gaps'? No they're there to make the team better

I agree they're not ideal but surely it's better getting players on longer-term loans now than short term loans in October?

Most teams in the championship and L1 now have loanees as an integral part of their plans. The successful ones manage to attract the better loanees. Even championship clubs rely on them. Premiership clubs see it as an opportunity to develop their young talent and increase any resale vale. Loanees are a key part of the game today, whether we like it or not. The trick is building a team with permenant players too and for loanees To be integrated to the rest team in terms of team ethic and tactical style. So far I hope Wilkinson and Rothwell find their place as so far Wilkinson hasn't played his natural nor best position and the midfield is looking very competitive.

In the long term we have **** loads of players down to their final year of their contact next summer, I can only see things getting worse, we can't sign players and soon we'll be trying to sell the ones we have. Just hope for moon light, music, love, & romance. Because theirs trouble ahead

You know **** all about me........you carry on old chap constantly bleating on about the same ***** you spout. Do you honestly think if we had the resources we'd loan all these players instead of buying?? And why would the likes of Arsenal starlets want to sign a 3 year deal with us.......use your noggin trout head!!!
