I feel like you're almost hoping it doesn't go ahead, just so you're proven right Anyway, why do you believe the story saying it's collapsing but didn't believe the story about the takeover being a possibility in the first place?
I was always sceptical about its truth, and did not believe a word of it from the start. As for a take over to come about well no I do not want one to NOT come along, Patrick is terminally ill and its reported his family are not too keen to take over when he passes. He has pored his heart and soul into it along with a huge amount of his personal fortune and of course his families inheritance. I sincerely hope he can go to his destiny with a good feeling in his heart that he is leaving the club behind safe and sound and on the right track. But when you look at some of the take overs at other clubs from overseas you have to wonder. No I do not want a take over............ I YEARN for one.
It seems strange that this consortium would choose Barnsley, and yet not be successful at a far larger club who we are playing on Saturday.
If it all goes sour then indeed you do deserve to see a load of arses lined up on the Town Hall steps. Because of the abuse you have taken for being the Doubting Thomas. Nobody on here knows what might next happen.
absolutely, Xerxes, that's what I found strange too. There a good many clubs about, with no big investors, who would attract a larger attendance than us due to catchment area and less competition from local clubs. We are in the championship with a ground that hold 23k+ we struggle to get around half its capacity. Also we do not own the ground or facilities. Unless they were gonna do an MK Dons scenario on us then it made little sense to me.
Like who? The clubs that Chien has previously shown an interest in all have massively wealthy owners or fans as owners who had no desire to sell, as far as I'm aware.
Gibson wouldn't sell https://www.google.co.uk/amp/www.ga...sbrough-inevitable-steve-gibsons-12501428.amp
If I'd kept on, like him, about the takeover lacking a pair of balls then I'd get my gloating in now. But why can't someone have respected their view that this takeover won't happen? It seems to me that nobody knows anything about what might happen next. And the track record of the potential purchasers has always been a cause for concern- they get so far and then don't complete. It isn't a "funds" thing. That would have been sorted long ago.
Thought I'd have a look at Boros attendances as I can remember going there in the mid 80s when they were pants. They're definitely a more successful club than us in terms of attendances and the level they've played at for longest. http://european-football-statistics.co.uk/attnclub/midd.htm Quite a fluctuation in attendances over time though. They certainly enjoy the better times, but not so keen when times aren't so clever.
Gibson wouldn't sell, read the report above. Hull don't own the stadium and it would cost too much to buy, read Alex Jarvis twitter feed for his response regarding this. I've not read into the Brentford takeover
