The first season that Bobby Hassell does not get many games and it looks like we are going down ! Surely it is just coincidence ? I mean we have players out there with Champions League experience and Premiership matches under their belt, they are far better players , right ?
When Danny came back and played bobby in his first game , it seemed bobby would get plenty of game time . He got injured soon after though , wish he had featured more since he come back from injury , as he still has plenty to offer us on the pitch
I was baffled to learn today's line up consisting of Kennedy at right back! Surely Bobby would have been a better option? He was probably our best player at Leeds early on in the season. Unfortunately though I think he has too much fitness issues. I think we were right to let Foster go, great servent, but in his twighlight years. Thought he would end up at Crewe. Shame it went tits up at Tranmere.
I thought Foster had one of his better years last season but he obviously didn't cut it at Tranmere and has failed to find another club since so I can't see how he could have made a difference. I thought Ramage was a more than adequate replacement (once he'd found his feet) and in any case, it would only have taken a mistake or two from Fozzy and people would have been calling for him to be dropped. I certainly wouldn't have let him go based on his performances last season but I suppose it was probably the right thing. Agree re Bobby really. Yes, he's struggled for fitness this year but he's the type of character we need in the side at the moment. Personally, I think Frimpong and Bobby could have worked well as a midfield pairing. Youth and experience and I think Bobby could have kept 'Manny' in check. Too late now though it seems.
1. Bobby would've sorted midfield out for us against Leeds on Saturday like he did at their place. That was the game we had to win. 2. Whether Foster and/or Harewood were worth retaining on ability is debatable but we sure lost a lot of un-replaced leadership with those two going and Bob being ignored.
Agreed. Would have been worth retaining for his experience and leadership qualities. He might have got more out of Big Jean earlier than we did and would certainly have provided a level of cover when we had injuries a while back.
Barnsley nead a leader on the pitch, Someone who can talk the talk & walk the walk, eg, Winstnley, Glavin, Tagget, mc,carthy, Redfearn, howard, etc, then build ateam round em. Danny will do this given chance.
