Pardew just been on Sky Sports. He said. Newcastle players were so tired and jaded they just did not play. Played Benefica in week Thursday? Then today. Barnsley played a double other week and a double this last week travelled 800 miles and after some really hard matches. They were off form Sat. But flicker will get them up for Tuesday and next Sat.

They stay in luxury hotels, travel on luxury coaches and probably fly first class. They don't do a great deal inbeteen games and are pampered beyond anything the average Joe will ever know. Tiredness is a poor excuse and Pardew is just peddling the same old 'football' mythology.

They have to try and fit 10 hours sleep in every day, doesn't leave much time for resting after the difficult training regime. Don't forget the massages and rub downs and that, tis a tough schedule.

Sorry Mario, but it doesn't matter whether you fly first class or baggage,or stop in the Hilton or a fleapit, the physical endeavour needed to stay at peak fitness is immense,I was for 14 years a rugby player,I wasn't big enough or fast enough to play at a high level, but I did sometimes play with and against players of County standard...but I was fit enough and I can tell you the demands on the body are huge..even at amateur level. The amount of training I did made it hard to keep my body weight up even though I was eating and drinking as much as I possibly could, the actual games are hard enough, but the tiredness later after the adrenaline rush had gone left me able to sleep the clock round...training incessantly all through the summer to try and stay fit enough so pre season doesn't kill you, just missing a few training days through injury makes it feel as though you haven't trained for weeks.....unless you have experienced it you really have no idea.(not being offensive when I say that)...fortunately I loved training..but even then by the end of the season I was totally knackered.

Its all relative to squad size but Premier League wont extend season even if Engllish Club in Champions League Final Chelsea suffered from still being in Europe having just returned from Russia to play a Cup Semi Final at Wembley less than 3 days later City had a big advantage today being much fresher as Charlton were yesterday.

They flew to Cardiff. Must have taken all of forty five minutes. Hope they wore their DVT socks.

Go on the tell me what he said that is wrong?
Do they not stay in luxury hotels?
Do they not travel in luxury coaches,?
Do they not fly 1st class?
    Are they not pampered?
Do they do a lot between games?

I know they actually have to turn up for training and matches 5 days a week and they travel in by car mostly, they train for approx 3 hours a day, then go to the gym(sometimes, not always).
So go on tell me how hard it is being paid more money than 99% of the fans get paid, tell me how we should feel sorry for them and how they are poor little mites !

You said they travelled 800 miles. I was just pointing out that more than half of that was done on an aeroplane and took not much more than an hour. Exhausting!

I would have thought you would be applying to join them. They should stop in bedsit downtown, go down in a charbang with solid wheels preferably. Fly easy jet, no meals, packed lunch. Do 50 hours a week community work, and get kicked up their arse every time they miss a pass. Get paid minimum wage. That suit you.

Why, did we fly on Easyjet? I'd guess at a private charter...

Pardew's just coming up with excuses to cover up the fact that he can't get a team full of international's to perform regularly. That team should be in the top 8.
