So? Why not? You trying to say you want something for nothing? If the lad continues his good goal scoring form I don't think having to pay any compensation will be an issue.
I'm sure somebody mentioned that the Scottish leagues don't have the under 24 compensation rule. Could be completely wrong like.
I find it frightening that football teams do not know the rules. Tbh we should not be having this discussion. You,d think clubs would know exactly what compo was expected before any transfer procedings were started. Anyway I doubt any compo will be excessive so wouldn't worry about it.
That Ledley deal was different. It's a Football League rule. An English rule, basically. Any player out of contract can leave the country and his club aren't due compensation. Not sure it's the same when moving from Scotland to England. You would have to assume that Ben Mansford of all people would have been fully aware of the rules, so I can't see much of an issue. Either we owe em nowt, or we owe em a small fee at a tribunal.
It's not that mate. At 22 they can't move anywhere for nowt, compensation must be paid if their club offer a contract but the player moves elsewhere. At 23 they can move between countries for nowt. At 24 they can move anywhere for nowt. Kane Hemmings' date of birth is not reported consistently. Some sources claim he is 23, some 22. I believe we thought he was 23 so wouldn't have to pay owt, but he's actually 22, so we do.
Just googled him. He's 23 on every article/site on the first page. https://www.google.co.uk/?gws_rd=ssl#q=kane+hemmings
If we did think he was 23, then by the time his contract would have ended he would have been 24, meaning that we had no intention on receiving compensation for him in 12 months. So in that scenario we would have both paid and received no compensation. The fact that he is apparently 22 means we'll have to pay compensation, but will also receive some in 12 months if he does leave. So everything works out more or less even?
