    fact...that is a worrying thought.

We are actually a relegation standard side.I cannot wait for next season and the truth.

Well that's what I wondered, OMB. I suppose they could have expected it to be their promotion party at one stage?

There was me thinking we only stayed up because we got 8 points more than the 3rd relegated team

One is Portsmouth had a points total obtained by spending more than they could so under the rules which have been in place for ages they were correctly deducted points

The second is we have no idea how the results of the last couple of games would have gone if we hadnt already been safe - had we needed points I am sure we would have been throwing players forwards today The fact we have been effectively safe for a while must have had some influence

That said 48 points isnt very good and we need to do better next year or will very likely go down. The last 2 seasons has needed an unusually low points total to survive its inlikely to happen 3 years in a row

I reckon some who post on here actually wanted us to go down.

this season is over now,and no matter how we stayed up,we did exactly that, stayed up....
so lets look forward to another season and get behind the club, theres plenty who've had a moan at the performances,me included,,,but it could have been worse,we could be in league one.
the fuk in der dar lot would love nowt better than for us to sink,,let not give them the satisfaction, get your season tickets.....the amount of season tickets the club sells does have a direct effect on the abiltity of the club to recruit good players, and not just because of the revenue raised, players can and are put off going to clubs that appear to have poor support.

Spot on - I've thought it for a long time! Personally I'm just pleased the season is over as it has been embarassing both listening to Hill and knowing that we are not going to get anything from a game. I don't believe everything that has been said about meeting the financial rules as I think Cryne could be in the brown stuff when he goes to court - thus distancing himself to save the club from any harm. It is not sounding good at all for his compatriots that are already on trial.

I can't bring myself to be inspired that next season will be any better without some investment and a serious rethink of how things are run in general at BFC. Neither can I invest in Hill as he changes his rhetoric so much that I can't keep up with him. We have stayed up courtesy of a 10 points deduction and that is a fact when you look at the table - I'm sorry but that is not job done.

I am really struggling to see how there is anything to look forward to!

we only had 8 points more, because they got docked TEN

yes I know thats the rules...but quite frankly we could not have known that they would be in that situation at the start of the season. Sorry,Dave, we are quite frankly the 3rd worst side in this league this season...and again I say thats worrying.
Ok so we lost a big effective/influential part of the team in January, but apart from the injury factor, who's fault was that in as much as we let slip two very very good players one being our best goal threat. I am not blaming Mr Hill here either, I want him to stay...its the board I would like to see get a huge rocket.

No we stayed up because we had more points than three other teams, that is the only fact. Pompey were deducted points for cheating and playing players they couldn't afford. Had they played a team of players they could afford all season they may have ended up with even less points.

We finished with more points BUT we obtained less points on the field all season, that is a fact.

Guessing that they'd have ended up with less points had they been more careful with their money, or we would have all of a sudden sparked into a bit of form with a serious threat of relegation, is just that . . . . GUESSING.

but by the same token its also guessing that we would have gone down had Pompey not broken the rules or been deducted points. We will never know The one unarguable fact is that we will be playing in the Championship again next season

We do know that we were one of the 3 worst teams in the division at obtaining points through winning and drawing football matches this season though . . . . so based on that we could have a bit more of an educated guess that we would have gone down had Portsmouth not been deducted points.

Yes it is all guessing, but the fact that we are guessing on what ifs and maybes regarding another team is ****ing hideous in itself. . . . .

Well if KH recruits well and gets the 4 or 5 quality players required ....

    Steele

    Stones McNulty Collins New LB

    Perkins Dawson

O'Brien New Butterfield New Vaz Te

    Davies /or New Striker

youngsters and older heads in current squad as back up, I can see us surviving, again, a bit like Groundhog Day, but colder and less amusing.

i was talking with one of the clubs sponsors on thursday night and we discussed what it would have cost the club had we got relegated, and he reckons on around 7 or 8 million..he cant believe that supporters actually think anyone connected with the club wants to go down.
there is money available to spend on players, and the club will recruit...but as many on here already know without the backing of the barnsley people the club is limited as to what they can do,people turn out in droves if we get on a cup run and thousands manage to get to play-off finals,if some of this lot decided 'their' club was worth supporting week in week out we'd stand a far better chance of avoiding another season like the one we've had.
