1 Here's a chance to get him off our wage bill. 2 And negotiate a nice selling on fee 3 Ensuring that we would have a goalkeeper who couldn't play against them in the final 4 But most importantly, pushing us into a corner so that we end up having to play Letheren in the semi if we don't agree the deal 5 Which gives Cardiff a better chance of winning 6 Which gives West Brom the extra chance of qualifying for Europe if the FA stand firm on not letting Cardiff qualify Whilst Barnsley are thinking 1 £8,000 a week is way out of our wage structure 2 So if we do pay Steele that we'll end up with a similar scenario that saw Redders leave the club, i.e. there'll be established players at Oakwell who are on far less than that 3 A big sell on fee would make the investment even less attractive 4 And saddling ourselves with paying someone £8,000 per week on a full time contract, when he would not be able to play against West Brom in the final and when Muller will be back at the end of the year is not money wisely spent Steele was fantastic for us in the short time we had him here, but when you take the above into consideration it seems the only way that he is going to play for us again is if he takes a whopping pay cut. Which means that he has the choice of potential short term success (and it may be very short term if West Brom beat Pompey) against a better longer term career, with potentially a top flight club. I don't reckon he'll be back you know, because as it stands the only winners are going to be West Brom. I would imagine that unless things change, the club will instead be contacting the FA to see if they would be prepared to let us bring another emergency keeper in on loan.
I'd be getted if we didn't get Steele back...but I think i'd more gutted for him than anything else. We can get another keeper, a good one at that. Who'd turn down a Wembley appearance?
Like you say, if the deal doesn't suit us, we should leave it. The worst thing we can do is take him just cos he did well against Liverpool.

It'll be interesting to see if Steele will be so gutted that he'll reduce his wage demands to enable him to sign for us in the summer
I also can't see him coming back. Too many questions, ifs and buts regarding Steele. Might be time to put sentiment aside and get another goalie in who is doing nowt in the PL. Carlo Nash at Wigan? Camp at Derby? Foster at MU if the other 2 are alright again? Turner at Everton? There are plenty about that aren't playing.
Keep dreaming.
If the injury is as bad as they say they is every chance he wont be seen much before Xmas.

So why do you think Muller is gonna be in goal then?
We need a decent Keeper no matter what.
Steele looks pretty good so why not sign him.

we will get him bk its his dream to play at wembely if we dont pay 8 thou he will probobely say he will cum for 6
