Not posted on here for about a week because I know exactly what is said on this board as soon as we lose a couple.

For me, our home form must be better than last season, because as always, our away form seems like it's gonna be toss as usual. Our home form is pivotal to us staying up.

Bristol City is a big game at the weekend, it's teams like Bristol we must beat if we're to do anything this year.

I know people won't like this, but the fact that 2 of Wolves' best players were linked with combined £21million moves away just 12 hours after beating us, sums up how far behind we are in terms of money. We're expected to compete with the likes of Bristol City, Palace, Milwall, Peterborough, Watford, Derby, etc this season, all of which have spent more than us.

If we finish 4th bottom, we'll have once again defied the odds, for the 6th season in a row. It might not seem like much of an achievement to avoid relegation again, but considering we've got such a limited budget, it's a massive achievement.

It might not be setting the bar very high but given a choice between finishing fourth from bottom and playing in the pub league then championship survival is our primary objective. Totally agree about budgets in fact a lot has been said on here about it over the last few days - the stark reality is that the Sky factor is now a major force in our league and we cannot compete financially with nearly half the league as a result. That said however Brighton should not be beating us 5 - 1 and our players shouldn’t be waving the white flag so cheaply away from home. Defeats can be lived with but spineless performances can't be acceptable no matter what.

    I fully agree with you.

And like it or not, teh number of people that will keep shelling out £300 + to watch us "battle the odds" will just keep dwindling. We are in a classic Catch22 situation.

That is the problem. We're down to the hardcore now and this doesn't raise enough funds to compete.

Archey, theres pros and cons to your argument of course.
Yes it seems a bit knee jerky for some of us to be getting angry already after two away losses. But that only tells half of the story doesnt it. Its the appalling way we lost in one of those away games against a team who wont be going up this season, thats why we've cause to be angry dont you think ?

I do agree though that staying up this season more than any of the previous SIX seasons, will be a brilliant achievement. And the upcoming Bristol home game is a massive game whichever way we look at it.
