Albert Camus and his relevance to supporting Barnsley FC In his essays Camus presented the reader with dualisms: Happiness and sadness, dark and light, life and death, etc. He wanted us to face up to the fact that happiness is fleeting and that we are mortal. He did this not to be morbid, but so we can love life and enjoy our happiness when it occurs. In Le Mythe, this dualism towards became a paradox: We value our lives and existence so greatly, but at the same time we know we will eventually die, and ultimately our endeavours are meaningless. Whilst we can live with a dualism (I can accept periods of BFC being *****, because I know (hope) I will also experience happiness to come insofar as BFC will have the odd good season), we cannot live with the paradox (I think my life is of great importance, but I also think it is meaningless). In Le Mythe, Camus was interested in how we experience the Absurd and how we live with it. Our life must have meaning for us to value it. If we accept that life has no meaning and therefore no value, should we kill ourselves?</p>
RE: The Glaswegian invasion........... Any ideas Fatty Went on MySpace to check them out but tracks won't play when I click on them. p.s. Wolfmother excellent last night, enjoyed Fields as well. Not bothered about Maccabees or iForward Russia though.
RE: Albert Camus and his relevance to supporting Barnsley FC Decent goalie as well - we could have used him instead of Manone.
RE: Albert Camus and his relevance to supporting Barnsley FC I think there are some on here who would jump at the chance of shooting dead an Arab.
RE: Aint that a Cure ditty? nt Yea... but its based on the L'Etranger by Camus. The first part of the book is about him committing a motiveless murder of a young Arab and the second part is about his remand and trial.
