Obviously its great that we look like we will survive but does that mean Davey is the man to take us forward? I'm still not convinced. Full marks to Davey for playing Nardiello at the right time, he has saved Barnsley from the drop and Davey's job? But no job offer for Nards?

Same as at the beginining of his tenure

initially dissapointed with his appointment but its looking very likely he's done the business and as such deserves the chance of a full close season to strengthen our position and a full season to get us into mid table.

Then we'll all be moaning that we are not challenging for the playoffs/promotion.

at the end of day he deserves his chance, it weren't his fault that andy ritchie got the chop and it was a bad time to take over and took a lot of flack for it. He has stated that he made mistakes at Wolves Ipswich etc for playing 1 up front which totally didn't work and lately he looks to have learnt from his mistake with the attacking football, maybe??

What you've got to realise is that he's a very young manager and will make some mistakes... however he has already learnt from some of these and has made the correct decision to re-instate Nardiello and suddenly keep starting with Kyel Reid who's been excellent the last few games.

The reason some people have been irate is as this is no consolation if we were to go down... but hopefully now we won't and if we can get a better overall squad for next year - which we should be able to do if we survive - then I see no reason why we can't finish a bit higher up if the players keep working well.

Yes I give him credit for that. But has not proved anything yet, difficult to make judgments.

He has come into a very difficult situation and done a good job. The experiences of this season will stand him in good stead for next season, and hopefully the board will give him some proper backing for next season.

I think Nardiello's improved form must down in part to the Kidd/Davey combination. Was he limited in the past by poor fitness levels and has the new regime sorted this out? It is good news for us if that is the case. If each player is on a challenging fitness profile (and each should be) maybe that's made the difference. Nardiello is recorded as saying that he likes Davey's way of doing things, so let's hope that we have a reborn Danny, who is keen to work on with Davey... Or was that Roy Keane arm around his shoulder hiding a brown envelope to go to the Black Cats????

Staying in this league was Davey's main job when he took over from AR. It looks as though this job is nearly done, baring a catastrophe. He will be (hopefully) a better manager, not every new young manager is given a task to keep their team from relegation. He as just about done it, and deserves the praises. But his biggest test will come in pre-season, when he as to sort the wheat from the chaff and bring in QUALITY players. I don't mean flooding the squad with mediocre, quality is whats needed, 3 or 4 players. Would be nice to get Nyatanga and Reid back next season, but we need 2 or 3 defenders and in my oppinion a new goalkeeper. With another quality striker, get nards and Howard signed up. Then we will progess into a half decent Championship side, and Davey's name will echo through the windy rafters of Oakwell :)

Well I didnt think he was the right choice and he didnt really start too well
he has made mistakes - dont we all - but seems to be learing from them
His sole target was to keep us in the league - and that was a daunting task given where he started. It seems he has done enough barring a catastrophic sequence of results so he has earned the right to have a proper go next season

Even if we go down I think I that Davey should be given a fair crack at the job.

Davey and his team have done very well in turning around the Clubs fortunes this season. How often is it that a totally inexperienced young manager with little in the terms of financial resources takes over a Club, and under a barrage of criticism takes it to the brink of survival.

Well done to Davey, the Coaching staff and all the players.

But then I would say that!

    :pff

I am still not convinced he is the new messiah, but I am convinced he has learned a lot in a short period and he has been man enough to admit some of his tactics were wrong and adjusted them in the last few games. I think he was trying too hard to completely change the way the Reds were playing, now he has taken the best of the previous manager traits and added his own to make a pretty good go of it at the minute.
After all that waffle, I suppose that means I am pleased with him (Y) (Y)

I am never too big to admit that I may have been wrong, but it remains to be seen what next year will bring

Still the same, I have every faith in him, and still do!

in fact, I will pu tmoney on the following...

within the next 2 seasons, we will be fighting to keep hold of him. (if not by the end of next season)

Yes, I am that confident in the bloke!
