We've got some deedars coming over for a bit of a bash... house full of kids though so no doubt there'll be some right mess to clear up!
Heading on down to the city See what's doing. There's one free entry party that attracts 15,000 people apparently. No doubt it'll be a disappointment as usual though. Newquay is the only place I've discovered that's any good on NYE. At least the council/government here recognise that people are out and about and put free public transport on throughout the night. Why on earth don't they do this in Britain? The one night when they know without doubt that people will need public transport and there isn't any. You're left scrambling for taxis that cost an arm and a leg if you're lucky enough to catch one.
Frayed Sew! But in my defence, we are spending 2 nights in London for the West Ham match. Having my last curry of 2008 tomorrow night, then the local. Can't be arsed to fight over taxis when I can have a decent pint 2 mins walk from home. Happy New Year everybody!
RE: Frayed Sew! And where's the local? Thornley? Think i will be partaking in a little crawl of the village with the missus. Normally one of the lads has a do but they have all decided to go to the Metrodome to see Housequake. Would be too much for the missus in a packed place when shes only got 3 weeks to go
Stopping in.........for some reason I've never liked New Years Eve Love Christmas.............hate New Years Eve
Probably because another year of your life is over and you will never get it back

I know that feeling I had 3 weeks to go with my first on Millennium Eve. Apart from being a taxi service early on, we were at a fancy dress party, with a teme of "M for Millenium" - dress as anything beginning with "M". Obviously with me in my state there was only one thing for it :- we went as Mary & Joseph!!
Black Tie dinner...at the local pub! Casino Royale - Bond theme party with 4 course meal thrown in. At least its only a 2 minute walk so no need to worry about transport
