As things have progressed should Connell still be captain or could it now be someone like Mcg assuming he can start every game.
    Or Roberts?

I think it’s pretty hard to say without being involved in training on the day-to-day basis and knowing characters. It will be unfair to ask but I would imagine @YT would have the best idea.

I would be looking for someone who is humble, puts team before self, who leads by example, and someone who has an iron-will to succeed.

these are usually characteristics that develop with experience. From the outside looking in I think Luca Connell displays some of these but the responsibility that came with captaincy was perhaps a little too early. Having said that, will he have learnt from last season? I would expect so.

    I still think Robbo.
Strong, silent type but leads by example.

Assuming Luca is still here, and has the smile on his face that he has displayed thus far in pre-season; I think it is best to try let him regain the form of the Duff season with as few distractions as possible. Including captaincy. Yes, he'll have learnt from last season, but what harm will a season of watching someone else have a go, whilst at the same time improving his game, do?

To be fair, quite a lot of the lads I know have since left themselves (I left a year ago yesterday funnily enough). And whilst I do know Conor, Tom Harban and others, I don’t know them as first team staff. I don’t know what their dressing room looks like, how they like to do things etc.

It’s usually based - primarily - on things off the football pitch. How they carry themselves in training, in the club, the respect of teammates, stuff like that.

Of those I do know who are still at the club (and aren’t youngsters like Flav etc) it’d be Robbo and nobody else even considered. Hugely respected. Barnsley lad. Experienced. Been there, done it, got every t-shirt.

But if Luca stays, would he be stripped of it? Maybe he was a great captain last year? I wouldn’t know. But he wouldn’t be my pick.

Robbo if he's going to be a regular in the starting 11.

Connell stays skipper for me. If he does leave, De Gevigney or Keillor-Dunn. Both lead by example in my opinion.
