I'm pretty sure they did Academy player at 2:40 then there was a 5/10 minute gap before they did player's player and fan's player. All the other players had headed back to the dressing room because it was so close to kick off.

You missed nowt. It was all done in two minutes with all the pomp and ceremony of a passer by flicking 10 pence in to a beggar's hat. It was like they were embarrassed by the whole thing. They didn't even inform us who came second and third. No disabled supporters POTY either.

The whole POTY thing has gone seriously down hill since the club disassociated itself with the Barnsley Chronicle. The Chronicle whipped the whole thing up so it felt like it meant something. Now it's an after thought.

London Tykes have a player of the year award. Well, we don't award anything as such, but we vote 1,2,3 place man of the match for each game and it gets totted up at the end of the season. It's not exactly wholly representative, as a player could have a blinder on a Tuesday night in Cardiff, but only one LT was there to witness it. But them's the breaks. I think Luke Steele wins ours just about every season, as he gets placed more than anyone else. In the words of the great Barry Taylor, "That's Democracy, Dennis."

I noticed they only had one tin trophy at Oakwell, that all the winners had a go with. It's a bit crap, what with the do being cancelled n'all. Someone needs to get hold of it for next season, if not the Chromical, someone else.

Jay hit the nail on the head. Rushed through in no time at all like we were ashamed or something. Could have at least put on the official website on monday who came 2nd and 3rd if you aren't going to announce it at the ground. Some of us would like to know. Not surprised the POTY dinner was cancelled. As Rowing said it's old hat now.
