Yes it certainly makes you think?. I'm thinking that Mr Hugh Fea ( cant be bothered to type his posh name out ) Stall, is not has dumb as he looks. He made a convincing programme on the type of chicken that most of us are eating ( intensive battery feeding meat). Mr Hugh F (or B*ll*cks) summat stall didn't mention in his programme that he had a shop in Axminster and ripping the locals off with his free range chickens at £15 to £20 per bird. Of course he wants everone to eat free range to to make him a very rich man. It's all a matter of choice, but if the supermarkets only stock freerange it wont be long before they are hikeing the prices up as much as Mr Hugh ( or *****, i just can't be bothered) all. :)

It was very "unfortunate" that he isn't impartial

from a commercial point of view. I don't think many can argue with the points he was making but to have a vested interest in the sales of free range chickens spoils the campaign.

I watched all three programmes and he was open about his shop in all three, even had some locals on makeing the claims, you are ,of 22 quid chickens. You can't do much more than tell people to buy a free range chicken from the supermarket Tesco, which he did throughout the programmes.

Fair point, but who is going to supply these freerange chicks to the supermarket in Axminster, not Bernard Mathews, probably Mr Whatshisname.

By the way, i am appauled has anyone on the treatment of these birds in intensive poultry houses, it should be stopped and it will. :)

If the demand for free range chickens increased then maybe the price would lower?

Go look at a real super market free range chicken factory

They are every bit as bad if not worse than the intensive.
Would you want to be an outdoor chicken on a day like today?
They have access to a small area of mud. but most of the time prefer to cram into less space than the intensive birds.
I repeat my point of the other day. Its impossible to mass produce low cost food in a way thats ok for the environment and the animal. If you want truely free range then expect to pay £20 plus a bird.
And also accept that they will have more disease and a higher dearth rate than intensive, just like in real life.
