A month or so ago we discussed that 3 of our big name fighters were facing their biggest tests to date and we speculated which (if any) would be champions at the end of the year. The concensus was that Calzaghe would win and thatHaye and Hatton would lose. So with 2 down and 1 to go, Hatton has the chance to complete an already excellent year for British boxing. Can he do it?
A month ago I would have categorically said 'no', but as the fight draws closer I'm starting to think he can. Dunno if this is blind optimism, a slow brainwashing via our xenophobic media or what but....I believe Ricky has a chance. Comments / views anyone ?

He has got a good chance, but He has to put Mayweather on the defensive, Hatton cannot allow Floyd to dictate the pace and how the fight progresses. Hatton will probably get cut, but he is always very calm about that, so I dont see it being a problem as long as the ref is calm about it also. Mayweather likes to fight in spurts , so if Ricky can get in close and make Mayweather fight for the whole 3 mins, I can see Hatton getting a late stoppage win, if Mayweather is allowed to fight at his own pace I see Mayweather winning on points, probably contoversal descision. But having said that I am just ready to see 2 of the best Boxers in the world at the moment get it on. Should be a great fight.
The Only Way Ricky Will Lose Is........... if it goes to points and the judges get scared at going against the homegrown guy.
He needs to get Floyd on the ropes and hit him with some of those body shots. If he allows Floyd to control the ring, and box. I can see Floyd out pointing him. With potshots flying in all night. The ref needs to let Ricky hold and really fight dirty.
RE: Wouldn't he lose if he got knocked out then? nt Bloody grow up people. Dont you get bored of pillocking dreamboy. It gets extremely boring people having a go at him after every post you set of bullies.
