Thank God for that! 13 hours and I would be ready to tear my hair out! Can't buy perfumes, after shaves (not that I'd want any of those lol) or anything liquid based. Things are looking up.
Bet the duty free shops are doing a roaring trade. ff I have a 12 hour flight coming up to the States..thank god i can buy a book or two.
They've changed it then? Wasn't the case yesterday.....comments from one person who worked in a shop in the airport to say they'd had 3 customers all day! Wonder how long it'll be before we are allowed to take bottles of water on the plane with us.
To say I am mightily relieved is an understatement Saw it on sky news an hour or so ago. Once you have cleared all the security checks you can purchase things from the shops. The whole essence of my holiday is being able to read all the juicy books I have been collecting since January as I do every year. All those crime fiction whodunnits - can't wait. I get through a book a day and even Hubby can't argue because it's not as if I'm taking them and not reading them. I take 13 books in the suitcase and one book in hand luggage. It causes rows every year though as three times now we've been done for excess baggage, but I can't do without my books. It's pure joy for me to sit and read as I don't get the time when at work. Reading is my passion. Even though I have all these books in the suitcase I'll still have to buy one at the airport, but who cares. That long haul flight is not nearly so daunting now.
RE: To say I am mightily relieved is an understatement A book a day! That's going some - do you have time to see wherever you are visiting? I usually manage 1 or 2 in the week....ar lass is eyeing up my books with a few days to go!
Oh aye. I get up early in the morning and have read half a book before other half even thinks about moving. Then, I pop it into my mini rucksack and away we go. As soon as we stop anywhere, out it comes and I get through a few more chapters. Then I'm first in the shower and get through a few more chapters whilst waiting again for other half. Pre- meal drinks - another chapter and then I'm usually finishing the book off just before bed. I get to see all the sights too as photography is my other love. My main task this holiday is to film and photograph Communities in Sri Lanka. It's one of the themes we have to teach this year to Year 3.
I must need glasses, letters keep changing before my very eyes. Even stranger considering I have my glasses on, hmm!
