But the coverage is hilarious, completely Leeds dominated, oh and they hope Barnsley and Hull escape too.

    Hey dont knock em!

The fact we even got a mention is a big improvement from previous programmes. I wonder if fans of Hull, BFC etc have actually complained often enough now about lack of coverage hence the token 'we hope Barnbsley and Hull survive too'?

Sounded like it - it was laughable really.

And Leeds' goal against Plymouth didn't cross the line!!

If it was our goal they would have replayed it 10 times to prove it wern't over the line!

ITV program about local football teams. Highlights and a small chat.

I think it was inconclusive from TV highlights. However, you are spot on - all brushed under the carpet that they might have cheated their way to 3 points. Contrast that to the Leeds game v Brum a couple of months ago when Leeds had a 'goal' disallowed because it didn't go over the line. They spent the whole programme trying to show clips to prove it was. Meks mi blood pressure shoot up they do that lot!

In fairness to Wendy - and whilst they get more coverage than we do - they are usually over shadowed by Leeds. I would say 70% of the Championship round up is about Leeds, 15% Hull, 10% SWFC and very very very occassionally we get a mention (5% if my sums add up!).

Someone on here a while back said that John Shires is an Huddersfied fan and apprently they once e mailed him about the programme and it's Leeds bias - the reply was that John Shires would love Leeds to get relegated, I can't beleive that - he seems Leeds through and through. Bloody good actor.

I well remember when we beat Leeds 2-1 in 89/90 and were the only team to win at Elland Road in the league. all they showed was Leeds hitting the crossbar twice and stuff of that nature. Barnsley's goals were not shown - but to be fair to them they did say that Leeds United FC had refused to release a full video of the match (another reason for hating the big-headed cants!) but Yorkshire TV talked in a tone that was one for a bereaved family member. They didn't give a **** that Barnsley had almost secured avoiding the drop. Poor old Leeds in their eyes.
I can't stand Leeds because of the coverage they get etc. Those ***** in YTV look upon us as yokels. It must really piss them off that for most of the 80's 'Super Leeds' were on a par with 'little Barnsley'.
As for the Wednesday coverage..... i can understand what you're saying there, cos prior to me moving away they always primed up any sort of Hull 'good-spot'. They get giddy over Bradford every now and then too in my opinion.

Essentially YTV is based in West Yorks - and is no doubt staffed by a lot of West Yorks people supporting Leeds, Huddersfield, Bradord etc - and thus the West Yorks bias, most noticably Leeds ,always is prominent. I remember in the 80s (god, I must stop reminiscing!) when Bob Wilson was on football focus. They would show you the top of each division usually the top 6 teams. My god, how the BBC managed to constantly NOT show Barnsley when we got promoted from the old Div 3. It was so bad that one week they showed the top 3 when were 4th...............then when we got in the top 3 they just seem to conveniently miss out Div 3 altogether!
