    Put it this way

If SD had signed Leon Knight (again) for example I'd be underwhelmed, because I've seen him play, and I haven't been impressed.

But he's signed a player, that most folks on here know nothing about.... for his squad, not first team, and hemay have potential, if playing alongside "better players"

He's signed him reasonably early in the close season.

There will be more ins, there will be more outs.

By all means question Davey's signings past, present & future, but let's just give this lad a chance, and remember that we're not done in the transfer market yet.

If it's not for his first team then which team is it for?

We don't have a reserve team anymore.

RE: If it's not for his first team then which team is it for?

Davey has indicated he will be part of his restructured "development squad" playing alongside the likes of Ruben NL, Jamil Adam etc...

Yes he says that they are part of a developmental squad but playing in what?

It's all well and good having a group of players that train together every day and calling them a developmental squad but without any competition for them to play against where are they going to actually develop? That's three strikers straight away in the 'developmental' squad and no league to play in. Add coulson into that and it's 4 strikers with no team. to play for

They have been known to arrange 'behind closed doors' games numerous times over the years, when they have wanted to assess trialists and test fitness etc. That way they can arrange fixtures as and when required to suit the club.

Early Season Development Squad Fixtures here

    19 Aug V Barugh Green U11s
    26 Aug V The Mount over 35s
2 Sept v BMBC Refuse Disposal Reserves
9 Sept v Real Madrid (Cristiano Ronaldo fitness enhancement game:behind closed doors)
16 Sept v Holgate School Dinner Ladies
23 Sept v King Pins Play group B team

I think you'll find that there are enough fixtures in August/ September for Sodje to find his scoring boots.
