Former Arsenal defender Sol Campbell - who left Notts County in September after only one game - wants a short-term loan move to a Championship club to earn a Premier League return in January.
No thanks. We can't afford him, he looks out only for himself and West Brom are suppose to be taking him.
can't afford him? Surely he'd play for next to nowt if he wants it as a stepping stone back to the Premiership in January - he can live off his Notts. County earnings till then!
RE: 2 things 1. We can afford him, as money is obviously not an issue to him hence him walking out on a 5 year 40k per week deal at Notts. However I think there'll be bigger fish than us sniffing round. 2. How can he be after a loan deal, he doesn't play for anyone?
How is he? He had his £40,000 5 year contract cancelled, i'm guessing NCFC let him go due to not having to pay him off.
Are you sure about that Not really sure how this situation works but I dont think a player without a wage can be refused the oppertunity to work under EU law If his contract has been really cancelled he is a free agent so he can sign for who he likes if he still has some form of contract with Notts County so they can "loan" him out as an emergency loan or have I missed something
RE: Are you sure about that I think there is a rule stating that to be considered a 'free agent' you must be out of contract when the previous transfer window ended. Not sure though. For him to go on loan he must be contracted to County still. If he is out of contract then there is no club to loan him out. Can't see where EU law would help, he has walked away from a contract, and only has to wait another 10 weeks or so to start a new job. Is there a case for anything? If he is so bothered about the principle of being able to work then he can get a job doing something else to tide him over. Maybe we can use the free plumbing course as the clincher to get him on loan?
He cant play for a premiership team until Jan... but he can appeal to the football league and they may consider a transfer under "special circumstances" Not that its relevant to us unless he signs for another side prepared to pay him an extortionate wage for 2 months.
well he was ***** in his only Notts C game at Morecambe, late for most tackles, put Manny Panther out for 2 months and was beaten all ends up by the Morecambe forwards, wouldnt really want him tbh
No thanks...lets build a team around key players not some prat on a short term deal who does not want to be here.....and imagine the hit on the rest of the team... your dropped so Sol can get a prem deal...will you still play when he's gone? If he was in threatening my position I would just cripple the ******* in training
