A couple of weeks ago, after searching the web for her email address, I emailed Caroline Wayman directly, she's the head ombudsman, the big boss of the financial ombudsman service. I basically said that we weren't satisfied with either the way our complaint was handled or the conclusions reached and we'd lost all faith and trust in the service. I stated that I thought she would wish to know some of the decisions that were being made in the service for which she is the figure head. Today we received a phone call from an actual ombudsman, not an adjudicator, the real McCoy. Which is extrmely unusual from what I've read. Very nice chap. He's upheld our complaint. Said it couldn't be any more clear cut. We don't owe the loan, the finance company will be told they have to write it off. So, if you heard "******* get in!" echoing round Barnsley earlier this afternoon, that was me. It's not over yet, I want to see it in writing for a start. The finance company obviously won't be happy about the decision, so they'll be chasing the solar panel company up for repayment, who will chase us up in turn, but I don't have to speak to any of those, one of the regulatory bodies who have ****** me about so much have to do it for me and I've already instructed them that we're not paying owt. We're not funding criminal activity. So, they can have all the grief and I don't think I'll bother reading any of my emails again. Think I'll get pissed now.
Top news - congratulations. A nice little late xmas present... I work for an organisation which I reckon is probably quite similar in governance terms to the Ombudsmen. One thing about my organisation is that they will always properly investigate complaints (much as it seems from the outside like we're exactly the kind of organisation that wouldn't), but I suppose with stuff like that it's difficult to know how much of it is the chief exec's personal insistence that stuff like that gets done.
Fantastic news to finish the year on. After the hell the pair of you have been put through, old mate, I'm really chuffed for your and your better half.
Santa comes late .......so long as he didn't come through the hole in the ceiling Hope the New Year is a good one for you and you can leave this cr@p behind you
Many, many congratulations, glad you got it all sorted at long last. Hope that some institution or other takes the company to court for the criminal offences they appear to have committed. At the very least I hope they get named and shamed so that others don't have to go through what you've been through. Great start for the new year!
This has been more gripping than the 'Happy Valley' series that ran on TV earlier this year, still at least there is a new series of Broadchurch starting to fill the void. Seriously though, this is excellent news so well done Jay, this just shows that the little guy can be heard if he keeps making a noise.
So happy for you! None of this made any sense from a legal point of view (the way your claims were rejected despite clear cut evidence) so I'm glad common sense prevailed in the end.
a huge YAYYYYYY for JAYYYYYY from the Dragon Justice is seen to be served.... fantastic news. Have you paid owt out as yet though, and if so can you get it back. But I am well chuffed you got a result fella.
Re: a huge YAYYYYYY for JAYYYYYY from the Dragon Should you get any further bills, simply tell them to put it on the slate...
Congrats, Jay, I was hoping they would see sense eventually, is the roof still a mess? And if so, are there any plans for them to fix that?
Excellent news. Be sure to let the bbs know if any untoward characters start appearing. I'm sure we could muster a small army on here. Now get pissed. Well deserved mate
