My mirrors have been taken off my car, now i could understand if it was one of my mirrors as it could have been a passing car etc. However both mirrors have been took off and this has lead me to think that I have been targeted. Going to get them fixed tomorrow but what would you do to prevent them from doing it again?? Its a P reg Fors Fiesta, no immobaliser or alarm and i basicly use it to get me to town, nothing much else.
erm... have you upset anyone?? it may be some pissed up antics... i dunno... park you car further up road or summat then if it happens you know ya targetted
Not a lot you can do to be honest Apart from be careful where you leave it, preferrably in a garage or on a drive but if you have to park it on the street try to get it in front of your house, not on the kerb as it encourages idiots to knock the mirror off, most motorists will avoid it on the roadside so the kerb should be your main priority. If you can then buy a cheap alarm for the car, if not then buy a cheap CCTV camera for the front of your house. for the sake of 20 or 30 quid it could help you identify the idiots if it happens again.
Cant see what ive done to anyone around my area as i dont really talk or socialise around here anymore, cheers anyway.
It honestly wouldnt be worth nicking really no garage either. Got a fairly good sized drive but my mum and dad both have a car each so no more room at the inn.
Thats what i have, CCTV infared, it's a piece of piss to set up, well worth the money at about 40/50 quid.
An alarm will help you catch them in the act but probably not till they've damaged the car and as soon as it goes off they'll run. But if you bought a cheap alarm and then 'accidentally' (wink wink nudge nudge) set it off when people are in the street they will realise that you have one and might leave the car alone. CCTV wont help you at the time but you'll be able to maybe identify them afterwards. The police will likely ignore it but you can take action yourself cant you
RE: How are you recording it Ady? nt With one of these.. http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?TabID=1&criteria=usb&ModuleNo=223738&doy=search&C=SO&U=Strat15
You aren't but you can get away with it If you position the camera over your garden so it accidentally gets the street in front. I dont understand why shops and businesses can film the street where they have no property but home owners cant film their own car on the street
No mate, But As you probably know i have had a couple of encounters, and trust me they wont be doing that again,
I don't believe it can no but of course any self respecting police officer would take a quick look at the video you have and if you/they recognise the person on film they could then target them and try to match them to any other evidence. Either that or you can spot them on it yourself and then go break their legs
