From a neutral point of view..Disgusting elbow to the head,No place for that kind of thing on a football field. He knew exactly what he was doing.Hope the player gets well soon.

From RS point of view...What does he expect face butting morgans elbow like that.

Andy Giddings cant accept the fact the people disagree with him, especially last night, there was a couple of callers who came on who said something along the lines of Morgan deserves everything gets, Giddings response...NONSENSE..and moved on the the next caller.

Football heaven has gone seriously down hill dont listen to it as mush as i used to, may have it on the odd night but as soon as i know it's Giddings on - I switch off.

i cant believe your defening him,he clearly leads with his elbow.doesnt even jump for the ball..
it would have been more subtle if he would have pulled a f in machette (sp) out of his sock

hope hume mkes a full recovery

I saw this on Skynews for the 1st timethis morning.

The man should serve time for GBH. He should not be allowed to hide behind his red and white shirt and the pretence of being a Football player doing his job.

If this happened in the stands he would have been to court by now.

I hope Hume and his family sue the lovely person for every cent he has now and liable to earn in his playing years.

The FA needs to do something about this and other thugs in the game who just use it to be as a legal way to hurt people, but they wont.

Just watched it now - I was expecting to see Hume & Morgan jumping for the ball.

All I did see was Morgan coming in - elbow raised far too high and a posture suggesting he had no intention of jumping for the ball.

    Disgusting challenge

fook me i have just seen the elbow. he cant use the excuse of needing leverage as he doesnt even jump and he heads the ball about a second after hume lands on the deck.

what an absolute disgrace. morgan wants banning for the rest of the season and charged with GBH
Talking to a few blades about this now....

They would both be happy to see him kicked out of the club, they are quite frankly ashamed and embarrased to have him representing the club.

anyone who defends morgan in this needs to get a grip. He just nails him. No attempt to jump, no attempt to win a header. If that was an owls player i'd be saying the same thing too, no prejudices against him cos of who he is. There is no place in football for that kind of thing. In my eyes it was a premeditated elbow with the intention of injuring a fellow player.
How can it be anything else? I hope he gets a serious ban and fine, what did thatcher get for the mendes assault? If its proved it was deliberate, or he admits it was, ban him for the length of time it takes hume to come back. Thats what they should have done with thatcher too.

More than anything else though, i hope ian hume makes a full recovery.
Its a horrific injury and i wouldnt be surprised if its a career ending one.

Andy Giddings " Morgan isn't that type of player"! What a nonsensical statement that is! So, mr. Giddings name the players who ARE "that" type of player. Giddings thinks it wasn't intentional, what footage has he seen. It's NOT an accidental aerial challenge, both players are stood on the floor and "Morgs" clearly elbows Hulme in the face. The TV footage is unambiguous and if he were a Wednesday player I would be ashamed. I don't usually listen to the United biased FH but did tonight as I was washing up. Giddings just cut off any caller who suggested that Morgan was at fault and just kept uttering the meaningless words "it does look bad" sometimes with the caveat "from that angle". Is everyone at RS a United fan? They let Blackwell ramble on for ages telling us in his cockney accent how big a club they are, instead of analysing the game. I still haven't got over RS commentary 2 seasons ago when every time United got a corner they said "And Sheffield United have got a corner, in the premiership".

Morgans not that sort of player? eally?

Because if someone had told me last week that a Championship player was going to carry out a thuggish, premeditated assault on a fellow professional at the weekend, I know who'd have been my number 1 candidate...
