    What do burglars steal these days?

    It used to be TVs, computer equipment etc, but consumer electronics are so cheap that second hand stuff has very little value. Finding a stash of cash or valuable jewellery must be pretty rare too.

    With the window smashed it was probably some druggy looking for cash and jewellery rather than a targeted burglary. Awful to lose sentimental jewellery like that and it's unlikely she'll get it back.

    Good to see all the offers of help though.

    I got done about 6 years ago and the cops said they only want jewellery and cash as it’s the easiest to get rid of and doesn’t leave a trace. Luckily for me I don’t have much of either so they left empty handed, except from a pillow case they nicked which apparently they would have used for a sack. Left an ipad, laptop, playstation and tele untouched.
