Some of Ritchies decisions baffle me

1. He puts the player of the season so far, Burns, on the bench. He didnt even bring him on at half time when obviously we needed him.
2. On Saturday he puts our top scorer on the bench (Hayes) and plays Richards who is useless, instead.
3. Where was Mcphail? Sounds as if we needed his composure on the ball.
4. Hes offered Marc Richards a 1.5 year contract. Hes had more shots at goal with his arse than his feet. Sums him up really. Hes a striker but he doesnt score. Probably why his previous league 2 clubs didnt want him.
5. Tactics - weve got a team that can sh*t on other teams when we get the ball on the ground and pass it. So why play the long ball?
6. He doesnt seem to get the team fired up before games. Hence us coming out and not closing the opposition down etc. You can bet your money Merson did because it seemed they wanted to win the game more than us and they closed us down etc.
7. His failure to use the loan market. Theres got to be a half decent centre half that we can bring in on loan or even permanantly from a prem or championship club. Take a leaf out of Walsalls book - that James has scored 2 goals in 2 games against us and hes on loan. Also Madds Timm looks like a good player and hes on loan.

Ritchies the man to get us out of this division and hes doing a good job. I suspect him and Holden will look at the game and assess our weaknesses e.g. not closing down, long ball etc. Hopefully we will see a response on Saturday.

Anyway lets not forget the league is more important because even i as an optimist didnt think we were going to win the FA Cup. We can now concentrate on getting out of this division. We are playing the bottom of the league on Saturday so lets hope we get 3 points to get us back in the playoffs.

My team for Saturday:
Colgan
Heckingbottom
Reid
Carbon or a centre half on loan
Austin
Devaney
Burns
Mcphail
Shuker
Hayes
Wright

Why do you think Ritchie is the man to get us out of this League?

Not having a go, just interested to know your reasons.

Hes good in the transfer market - brought in some good players e.g. Devaney, Hayes etc. Only signed one bad player and thats Richards.
Give him more time and he will bring in more quality.
Judge him on our league position - we are 7th in the league with a game in hand.
We have only lost one game at home this season (league)

but playing the long ball and playing Marc Richards far too often really annoys me. Playing Barry Conlon for 13 games (1 goal) also annoyed me. Putting Burns on the bench really annoyed me too. Not playing Mcpahil annoyed me. The players not givung 100% annoyed me. Kell got his chance and played awful by the sounds of it, annoyed me.
See i can be negative too. Being negative on this board is fashion.

unfortunately as I posted last night................

most( just over 75%) of top six teams in this division over the last 10 seasons have been in the top 6 away teams. Occasionally there is a team who does spectacularly well at home which makes it but in general home form alone is not enough.

Ritchie/Holden have to come up with a (cunning?) plan to bolster our away form-we need to draw a significant number and win a few. However I'm not sure that they(I certainly don't !!) know what is best 3-5-2? 4-4-2? 4-5-1? whatever it is it needs sorting ASAP-it might even need a couple of loan players-maybe a lone target man if one is available.

and to get on a hobbyhorse of mine-phone Martin Keown NOW-he's said on Sky that he's dead keen to pass on some of his knowledge re defensive tactics/coaching
