I thought it was a very odd decision to start with Austin in the centre and Hassell at right back. Surely Hassell has more experience standing in at the centre ? By the time this was rectified at half time we were two down. In the second half the back four looked far better balanced and much more secure. Why didn't we start that way ? Also, when Hayes came on there was a big difference. Richards had a poor game today.Hayes had so much more presence, mobility and posed a much greater threat. I don't hold much truck with the "we were sh*te brigade". In the second half we were all over Port vale like a rash. With the right team selection and positioning today we would have had three points, no problem.
Austin did start out as a centre half tho didnt he and he has played well there in last few games, wasn't he our man of match in last game so i can understand in a way why he kept him at centre half.
Was Carbon on the right or left to start with, I think he's right footed and prefers that position so it wouldn't surprise me is ossie was on the left side. If they switched did Carbon move over? Could be total ****** like!
carbon is a waste of space bet he,s injured for the next game,get shut and get someone more reliable!
