Feel for Owen his post match interview was painful, "I'm not Wayne Rooney" etc. His game 100% relies on his pace and ability to react, and unfortunately, his lack of match fitness is more obvious than most. as much criticism as Sven has had, at least he's doing something about it, regardless of how unpopular it may make him. Crouch and Rooney are first choice, simple as that. Ashley Cole looks a few yards off the pace, but I think he's improving with every game, at at least he's lasting 90 minutes. I dont see a decent replacement for him, unless we go to 3 at the back. Noticeable that Downing has come on late in the games, he provides more cover when Cole is getting tired.
RE: Ashley Cole and Michael Owen Agree with that. Beckham is a proper dilemma. There's no better crosser of the ball at this World Cup and he's created two of the three goals we've scored. Problem is he limits the team in so many other ways. I'd switch him and Gerrard round and give Gerrard freedom to play where he likes.

RE: Feel for Owen But it doesn't help him that he is playing against defence that is packed full and falling back. He needs to run into space behind the defence, something that so far has been none existant.

Beckham is Garbage He hit the first man loads of times at free kicks and corners and his attempt on goal from direct free-kick hit the knee of the guy in the wall. He was the best, not now, they should try and mix it up and let Stevie G boom it. Also it says something that Beckams best performance for some time in England colours came yesterday, at right back.
