We've just took 9 points in the last 7 games, do that in the next 7 then the same again in the 7 after that, and it puts us on 44 with one to play, I'd take the now to be honest as long as we beat Yeovil Charlton and Bolton But as the op says we've some very hard games coming up
It neither bothers or worries me. We're not playing Real Madrid, Barcelona, PSG or Bayern Munich in the next four games, for example. We're playing Huddersfield, Forest, Leicester & Watford. Wednesday & Yeovil have beaten Watford this season. Wednesday & Doncaster have beaten Leicester this season. Yeovil & Blackpool have beaten Forest this season. Wednesday beat Huddersfield on Saturday, we've already beaten them this season. We're capable of winning all these games, as others have obviously done.
We've had this manager & squad approximately two months. Keep your patronising & condescension for others, it doesn't wash with me. Just because you've thrown in the towel doesn't mean I have to. I believe we can win these games. You claimed we would be relegated last season. You were wrong. You claimed Danny Wilson had been out of work for over a year before we appointed him manager. You were wrong. You claimed it was 'obvious' Mickey Mellon was going to be appointed as manager and the club should stop messing about. You were wrong. When I want or need your advice, I'll ask.
Saturday and Tuesday home games back to back cant remember us taking 6 points from them many times even when playing quite well and then having a trip to Watford on the Saturday its a mammoth tusk but I`m sure we can get enough out of them games to keep us in the shake up. This is when the squad players can earn their corn and show the manager what they are capable of. Onwards and upwards.
How have I thrown the towel in ? If you look at the post before yours you'll see I'm clutching at straws too, we've had the core of this squad a lot longer then two months and Wilson would have been here 3 months if the board got their fingers out of their arse from the off
As ever my mind says one thing my supporters heart says another **** it we can win a few games put ourselves in the mix. forest have an injury crisis, Huddersfield are struggling. 6 points from those 4 games then let's see where we go.
He was appointed on 17th December. He's had the January transfer window to get in the players he wanted and move on some of those he doesn't. This squad has had little time to gel, they've needed to hit the ground running. If you're saying all the teams I mentioned are better than ours (bar Yeovil), I'd disagree. You believe Blackpool are better than us, I disagree. You believe Sheffield Wednesday are better than us, I disagree. You believe Doncaster are better than us, I disagree. If you say they have accumulated more points than us from the beginning of the season, I agree. But my argument is that if these teams of similar ability to ours are capable of beating these sides, then so are we. You've frequently claimed you believe we're going to be relegated. I've taken it that you're being honest in your assessment. I believe we'll stop up. I could be wrong (invariably I am), but I've not given up on the players & manager.
Like I say 3 wins in next 7 and 3 wins in 7 after that and we should be alright, sounds easy enough to me when you brake it down like that but we've got to win our 3 away games at Yeovil Bolton and Charlton then I think another 6 wins would be enough and it don't matter when we get um as long as we do, but 9 points In next 7 would give us a massive boost to go get the other 9 in the next 7
Well I'm coming up for Forest/Leicester and Brighton/Burnley so I hope we win three or four of those!! I've made it to 10-11 games this season and we've lost the lot apart from Charlton, where we did our best to lose but only managed a draw. We played Leicester off the park last season and we now have a stronger side, but we need that spirit back that saw us through those games last term.
