...rang in to say that after the final whistle, both sets of fans went onto the pitch, Walsall congratulating Barnsley, and us comisserating with them, and it was all very friendly, then away supporters went back into stands and the team came out to do a lap of honour.
If that's true - then it must have been wonderful to have been there.

Yeas both sets of fans ran on to the pitch All good natured and no trouble. Still dont agree with it but no harm done this time
Bradford Fans were similarly gracious when we were promoted. Bradford in a bit of a sticky situation as I remember. Bearing that in mind, I thought the treatment the Bradford Fans got after last weeks home game was a disgrace.
RE: Bradford Fans were similarly gracious when we were promoted. Yep - they still needed points to stay up yet congratulated us on our promotion....a lod of Barnslet fans went to Bradford the following midweek to "support" them in the game that they won to give them a chance of staying up.
RE: Yes, today was what football's all about Strange, I thought it was about players kicking a ball on the pitch! ff
RE: Yes, today was what football's all about walsall fans on the pitch applauding us lot and congratulating us, hand shakes between both sets of fans it was marvelous ro witness it. somehow i cant see it happening against huddersfield.
I shook hands with approx 20 Walsall fans on the pitch. A policeman told me he wanted to go home so could i leave the pitch now. so I did, it was what football is all about wont forget that end to a game
It was good, there were stewards in between them so I think they might have been a bit worried when the fans headed towards each other but it was brill, handshakes all round and good applause from those of us in the stand. They announced that if people went back into the stand the team would come back out, so the stewards and police set themselves up on the 6 yard line and yep the team came out. A good end to a 'tense' afternoon. I'll see Danny's pen on the telly tomorrow cause I certainly couldn't watch it today!
I couldnt watch it either, just heard the roar and me cousin grabbed me, knew we'd scored, didnt see the run up or anything
Fantastic that has been the best ending to game ever. The walsall fans were fantastic. Only thing that spoilt the day was that old battle axe in the walsall supporters club. She walked round the pub and said if you lot dont stop singing then we will close the bar and that will be that. Need less to say she closed the bar the old trout and even the walsall fans were booing at the fat old trout. Well done to the reds today. Fantastic. Now lets get down the well on thursday and give the lads a true rip roring atmosphere a little bit like today but better. COME ON YOUE REDS.
RE: I couldnt watch it either, just heard the roar were you sat with ICU tyke. I was sat behind him but right at the back - could see his name on his shirt
