Someone at works tried getting tickets for this Saturday and been told

    The Ponty End is sold out, East Stand Lower has gone except the odd one or two, the upper is nearly gone and the west is creeping up. He says he finally got 2 spread away from his son in the East.


    I dont know how true this is, because hes a bit of a tommy topper, if youve been to Tenerife he's been to Elevenerife.

    But he came over out of the blue and told me, so i kind of believe him about the ponty but not the other 2 stands.... i hope he's telling the truth though..

    So less 6,000 in away end and about 1500-ish that we can't have in west stand that would equate to about 12,000 home fans.

    His expected gate keeps going up, started at 11k. Its already a success after turning out only 8,300 fans v Boro and under 8,000 fans for the Brizzle game. Home ticket sales past the 10,000 mark and probably the busiest days in the ticket office will be today and tomorrow.

    And pay on the day, nar then.

    Sooooooooooooo let's say 4,000 pay on day tickets sold = £40k ish.

    V Bristol about 500 pay on day at an average of £25 ? let's say £28 = £14k ish.

    No, cutting the cost of attendance and publicising it and actually working hard to attract fans does not work. At all.

    No, I'm not expecting Rev Preedy on stilts every game, but I think it shows even with the significance of this particular game that if the will is there from the club to get out and work and price games reasonably and make it easy for people to buy tickets then the potential is there.
