that being a footballer is "probably the most difficult career you could ever choose to make a living in". Honestly, they have, I'm not kidding. I'll be pissing myself for weeks.
it is relatively easy for those lucky enough, with talent, that get the breaks It is difficult if you judge it on the likelihood of first year lads ending up with a career in the top 4 divisions.
Because there are only 90-odd clubs that are pro? Say 100 professional clubs with an average squad size of 20-25, that's 2,500 places available. I bet Virgin Media have more call centre staff than that. Even less when the likes of Davey, Wenger and Benitez (the only sentence where you'll see all three together) buy in all their players from abroad. Anybody that thinks a weekly workload of training, two games tops and getting stopped for speeding equates to a "difficult job" is somewhat deluded.
I think anyone who thinks being a pro footballer is easy is deluded. Read any of Jens Bangbo's books and you will get some idea of the physical demands made on footballers. Short hours compared to a 37 hour job but very high intensity work.
Are we talking about being a professional footballer and making a living off it? Or are we talking about being one of the top players in the country/world? In my opinion there is a huge difference.
Try being unemployed and seeing there are no jobs to go for unless you wanna be a cleaner part time and knowing what you have coming in and going out just dont add up!!! and they think they have hard lives!!!!!! I THINK NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
are you kidding? these people are paid to laik football, which is an enjoyable past time which anyone reasonably fit between 17 and 35 can do daily without breaking sweat. it doesn't really compare to the vast majority of the nation who are paid **** wages to do **** mind numbing jobs for **** employers
