I have just seen JCR leaving the keepmoat and when my younger brother asked where he was going - This was the reply "I don't like this manager and he doesn't like me!" Make of that what you will!! Come on the reds!!!!!!!!
If that's true then like I said yesterday, let him think he's a 'big time Charlie' and move him on. We've enough cover in midfield now, especially on the wings - Hammill, de Silva, Hallfredsson, J.Gray, Devaney.
robins and jcr had a big fall out at rotherham, he said he wouldnt play for him again un got transfered to southend.
How so? JCR left Rotherham in the summer of 2006, Mark Robins was appointed as caretaker manager in February 2007 which became permanent in the April. Campbell-Ryce played for Rotherham during the 2004/05 & 2005/06 seasons. The managers during his playing career at Millmoor were Ronnie Moore, Mick Harford and Alan Knill.
This is the first time he's played under Robins I've read separate articles by both men saying how much they like each other. They could well have had a big falling out (I have no idea whether this is true or not), but at the same time the rumour could also be a load of B*ll*cks.
Wasn't Robins the assistant manager at Rotherham while JCR was there? And any idea if it is true that he refused to play for them towards the end? I know that things went a bit sour for him there
RE: Wasn't Robins the assistant manager at Rotherham while JCR was there? JCR went out on loan during the 2005/06 season to both Colchester United & Southend United, making the move to Southend permanent in the summer of 2006. When he moved South on loan, Mick Harford was the manager. The reason given at the time was that he couldn't settle in the North. The Southend fans ironically asked why that had ceased to be a problem when he signed for us. Also, there was some sort of dispute between Rotherham & Southend with relation to the transfer fee for him. As far as I'm aware, there was no way JCR could have played under Robins as either manager or assistant manager at Rotherham.
