Bristol always used to be in Gloucestershire didn't it?

    Whatever happened to "Avon"?

I'm sure Bristol used to be Gloucestershire before metropolization!!!

Must be my age, it does strange things to people in Westmorland!

    That puzzled me as well.

Looks like Ashton gate is in "North Somerset."

    My daughter lives there!

I thought I was in Gloucestershire when I was there!

Ashton gate is in the centre of Bristol... so it'd be the same

    Just found this

The Bristol city region includes Bristol, Bath and Weston-super-Mare and covers the four unitary authority areas of Bristol, Bath & North East Somerset, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. In the last ten years its population has grown faster than the UK average to nearly one million people. The city region is the South West's principal economic engine, its key wealth generator and its leading centre for business, culture and learning. The city region generates 24% of the South West's GDP, has 24% of the region's employment, and has 21% of the region's 200,000 businesses.

That is so inconclusive and non-committal, it must have been written by

I hadn't realised Avon was defunct.
