...I sold a phone on ebay for just over £60.

I then had an email saying that the person who bought it has had their account hacked & so and so.

I've then received e-mails from a kid in Nigeria telling me he's bought it and he's added over £100 into my paypal account. I've then had some dodgy emails from ebay as well that I think are forged.

What can/should I do? Do I report it to ebay or keep the £100 from the Nigerian?

    Be very careful

Check your paypal account, and ensure the money is there. Nigerians are adept at sending a paid note which looks as though it came from .Paypal

Similar thing happened to me last week. I had a supposed email from Ebay with a warning about not sending a laptop I'd sold. I clicked on the link to the item (stupidly) and it was going to go to a dll file somewhere online. Fortunately I was at work and the electric fence came slamming down preventing any damage being done.

Listen Dyson do not send the phone,it looks like you have a £100 but you aint got nothing, all he will do is get his £100 back with a chargeback on Paypal and you will be left with nothing.

Only countries where you are protected is the UK and the USA,all you will finish up with is Paypal asking you for the £100 he is going to take back, its a big loophole,i speak from experience.(look on aboutpaypal.org)look for chargebacks.

    I'd report it to Ebay

    The £100 isnt real

Think about it - why would anyone give you more money for something once it had been sold. especially anyone from Nigeria

Did you get the original £60

if you look up the definition of NIGERIAN in the updated 2008 kingster print oxford dictionary, it comes back as 'deception merchant, particulary adept at scamming bank cards, internet fraud, ebay account (particularly paypal accounts)'. this is in no means a racist comment before any do gooders starts, just a plain and simple fact. stay away. theives. scammers and scum.

I've reported it to ebay. Nothing was sent via paypal.

I've got to relist which means no second chance offers or anything.

    Vegas.....favour needed once more.
