Not sure if people would be interested in this if the club could get enough people wanting it, but how about an overnight package deal? For a good price you get.......... * Coach travel new years eve from Oakwell to Scunny. * Matchday ticket for the game. * Overnight stay in a Scunny hotel to see in the new year. * Breakfast on morning of the match for new years hangover. * Coach from the hotel to the game. * Coach from the game back to Oakwell after the match.
I'd rather see in the new year at home and then travel the hour to Scunny to watch the game. I've worked in Scunny quite a few times and I definitely don't want to spend the night there!
Overnight stay in Scunny? Surely that’s a joke. Good idea though for other away games. Reading the Charlton programme I noticed they where doing deals a deal for Cardiff which included an overnight stay. Also going by the last Programme from the Bristol City game I notice we play Wednesday away twice and not at home, interesting.
I believe some of the others were messed up in a similar way like Norwich. The idea behind it all would be the chance of a bigger turnout, seeing in the new year somewhere different etc. Plus most people have that time off anyway and so having off work shouldn't be a problem to many. What Charlton are doing is a great idea. For us it would only work for certain games like this one and say Plymouth in febuary.
I'd love to spend New Year's Eve somewhere different Scunny is not on the list of places to do it though! And not sure a hotel would be that keen on a load of football fans being there for New Years Eve!
