    The negativity of our fans in shocking....

    Just been talking to a bloke at work about signing Toni Silva... Pointed out Sky Sports were saying that He's turned down top flight clubs across Europe to sign for us. My point being playing games was more important to him than a big move and being in the reserves.

    His take on it was he lack ambition, and knows he will never make it at the top....

    what can you say to that!!

    Across Europe?? I think it's more likely to be the Slovak League than the Bundesliga.

    Depends who the sides from abroad were. None of us know if he's signing for us because he doesn't feel confident to crack a regular place in a top flight club just yet or because of some other reason. Should be playing at Stocksbridge i'd imagine.

    He's Portugese isn't he - so perhaps back there but once you get past Porto and Benfica it's probably not all the diffferent a level to Championship.

    I know what you mean.

    I'm trying to work out what players are ok to sign

    L2/L3 - lower league rubbish, not good enough
    Prem league youngsters - no ambitious enough
    Prem league oldies - just after a pay-off

    I had a similar conversation with a Owl at work this morning, saying Mido only signed for us because he knew no other championship club would entertain him.

    When I said I'd bet he'd love him in a Wednesday he just commented Wednesday are looking further afield!!!


    Could they be jealous of little old Barnsley?

    Mido is a huge gamble though, IF we can get him fit then he will be an asset, but we have to be realistic it is going to be October till he is fully fit.

    No one will ever be good enough for some people...
    All he kept saying was there are really good players out of contract (Fitz Hall etc) and we should be targeting them. I Couldnt make him understand that we all would like players of that caliber but with the competition for their signatures we would just not be able to compete. That is unless he'd like us to follow Pompey's business model. I didnt get a proper answer, just a grumbled 'he ant got a club and he'd be happy to sign for a Championship club like us'.
