A major factor in our defeat was not having a RWB - was exploited for 2 of their goals, and could have been the reason for our downfall. Didn't help that their left winger was quality. This could well be our formation for away games - we'll see what happens at home. A striker to hold it up could also have won us that game. Wilkinson and Winnall didn't offer much of a presence today, and bthe balls into them were often snuffed out straight away by the defenders. Imagine Chris O'Grady absorbing those balls instead of Wilko... I'm sure LJ is looking to sign players for these two positions - we know he's after a striker and this will scare him into getting a right back. Chesterfield reached the play-offs last year, and only had 1 debutant starting today: we lost away to a good team!
Like I said they only had 1 new player starting, and that was a certain Mr. Ebanks-Blake! Looked well organised and fit - could be a decent season for them Watch them get relegated now...
Don't think any team will find a trip to Chesterfield easy, but we should've put up a better showing than that. They bossed the game and we looked very inferior for long periods...
I thought first half we dealt with everything they had roberts won every header put into the box but they were getting too much joy down the right scowern did his best but he was out of position. Second half they were better when they scored our heads dropped and the third goal we have possesion away cheaply and it cost us. Doesnt help when you are a man down in midfield with connor horahine on his day a player but may as well not botherd yesterday. Id like to see watkins start next game and if we have sold mason recruit a striker and a rwb.
