My good lady wants a new Tele and looking for a flat screen with a nice picture. Looking at the Bravia 42inch, ish, locally (missus thinks ordering via internet will involve a Nigerian Scam) there seems to be a bit of variation in the models on price in Curry's PC World, Comet. Has any body got a Bravia lately, I understand there are several levels of quality and wheres the best place to buy it.

Amazon or Play will be cheapest, whatever you do buy online - you'll save a couple of hundred quid!

If your not totally set on a Sony....

Look at the Sharp LCD, LC42XD1E...£799 with 5 yrs cover at John Lewis ... its a great telly.

Also worth noting that John Lewis offer 5yr cover and free delivery and will not be beaten on price.

Richer sounds have some great offer on too...

Just bought a Panasonic TH42 PX70 42 inch Plasma tv from John Lewis at £899 price matched, with 5 years guarantee. Look in all the latest TV mags - it comes out top in all the surveys I've seen., beats all the LCD's.

Have a look on pixmania as well. If you find owt you like there may be % off vouchers on the internet or % off for new customers. Worth a google or a search on some voucher sites.

    Thanks for the information

I think I have been influenced by the Bravia ads. Will look at the Panasonic tommorow, thanks again.

RE: Review Link and for the Panny

I looked at both the Panny and the Sharo these but went for the 'future proof' 1080p option of the Sharp...

One thing to note when I was looking....take care on prices with the Panasonic, some quote without any stand at all...

RE: Panasonic -good advice about the stand.

Make sure they quote a price for the pedestal stand OR the wall mount. Mine was £899 including the pedestal stand.
