    IIRC

.. the old firmware is better but I can't remember why. Possibly coppied games.

If you have the old version and want the newer, you can quite easily upgrade.

You've got the latest firmware if you've got the 2.5 (i think). They put firmware updates on new games when they come out. A 2.75 (or summat like that) is due out soon and will be available on new games around that time. The only downside of having the newer firmware is problems playing "homebrew" games. So you cant always play games that people have made themselves and put on the internet to download for free. From what i've seen this is no big loss coz the games look cack. I believe that newer firmware enables your psp to do various new things that sony keep thinking up. A lot of it seems to be online play stuff at the moment which I havent tried. What do you think of the psp? i'm made up with mine.

What was the best price you managed to find?

HMV have been selling the base model with a free chart game (different selection each week)for £149.
