Decent interview. I'm still confused about the situation with Phillips, Luca and DKD though. Mladen says we had "multiple offers for all three" (7:41), but didn't Conor say in several recent pressers that there hadn't been any bids on any of them? Tbf I could be completely mis-remembering what Conor said.
That was a really enjoyable listen. But as the leader of the Mladen fan club, I’m going to say that. I do wonder if the majority who wanted him out last season, have altered their opinion since?
I haven't listened to this interview, but didn't Conor say there'd been no offers as of the Thursday before the window closing, but expected it being a busy final few days of the window.
I’m in no way a hater but the interview seems a bit all over. McAtee was a back up plan but we fail led to deliver the back up plan.
I’ve just read the begrudging FB comments. ‘Wait until January’ & ‘how come Orient have more clout than us?’ type stuff. It’s almost as if some are disappointed not to feel disappointed.
All over the place, like the YP interview. I've tried to read this simple-looking paragraph 8 times and I still can't digest it: "On that basis, the players who we brought in and some of the ones we maybe had to loan out, we thought we could trim from other areas and protect our biggest assets and let some other players go out and then balance it that way.”
If we were struggling with 2pts on the board the reaction to this interview would be entirely different.
I hear what he’s saying about staying lucky with injuries up top but I’d have much preferred a backup option than relying on pure luck it’s a decision that could bite us on the backside
Not listened to it yet, but...... “I will back him as much as I can… there has to be more patience” if thats Mladen's quote about Conor, then he's got a nerve. 2 priorities this window, an experienced centre half and a striker (Im a fan of McGoldrick but he wont play 40 full games), we got neither. If things go títs up, I'd hope Mladen is first out the door.
He may be a very nice chap and I hope he is. I've not met him like some people have in here. I do think there is not, as yet, any evidence that he's actually done a good job. He's wasted money on complete kak and he, himself, is picking up what presumably is a very good wage for the bad job hes done - wasting more money. I'll change my mind and hold my hands up if he becomes a key player in good recruitment but at the moment I still think he's crap, should be sacked and the role either scrapped or given to someone who has knowledge of football. I don't care if he's a nice guy (apart from it being nice in itself) and I don't care if he gives a decent interview. At the moment it's only proven that he signs square, crap pegs for round holes. This years window, I suspect, was mainly Hourihane not Sormaz. As I say, I'll humbly change my views when things are clearer.
