happy for him to stay and work underneath an experienced manager, but if we are going forwards and upwards, which I assume Mansford and Watkins have been brought into achieve, we need someone who can attract and motivate the calibre of player needed for the Championship. Sick of having to defy the odds, appointing Mellon would tell me we've given up, all the pre season statements will have been just wind and piss.

Colours nailed to mast: Warnock for me, absolute no brainer.

5 years ago I would have agreed wholeheartedly, but the guy has essentially retired. He is not interested in the long term beyond this season.

For me, we could bring Alex Ferguson in and it would still be an uphill battle to stay up this season - whoever we bring in we have to face the fact that it is a real possibility that we will go down. For that reason, we should be giving ourselves the best chance of staying up, of course, by appointing someone with experience, but also looking to next season and building a new successful base to work from that people can get behind.

If we appoint Warnock, even if we stay up, we would be faced with doing it all again in the summer and losing half the summer appointing a manager instead of planning for next season. And with the world cup next year, it could well be that nothing much happens until July. That would be suicidal.

    Wilson for me. 100%

Wilson is a decent League 1 manager

its a romantic ideal people are getting carried away with. Unless we are accepting League 1 football next season, I think we should be appointing a Championship manager with recent Championship experience.

Warnock's track record speaks for itself. So does Wilsons.

What a load of twaddle. Tell me after today and Brighton who could have got our lads to play like they have. Barnsley were unlucky today, they at least deserved a point. Mellon has took two top teams on away and nearly got 4points. How can you condemn that
