We will get better I'm sure but today was terrible Don't think for one minute Bristol were good We were shocking Only 2 players deserve credit Moncur and Jackson for me
Jackson really?? I didn't go so can't comment but everyone I spoke to who did go said Jackson was awful
You having a laugh ? Jackson was awful. Davies and Hammill were the only 2 that came out with any credit. Thought the midfielders were like tourists looking around for directions. We were poor in possession and dawdled on ball too often.
Also that's the third time in as many weeks that McDonald' as been unable to defend a long straight ball over the top . IWe need to get the basics right or we've blown it .
Our defence was far from great last season... then we weaken it further by selling Roberts, McDonald looks a wee bit lost this time round.. I'm sure that everyone will find out this season that the championship is not the league to try and rebuild a total team on the cheap... problems in every area of the field... Inexperienced in defence and boy will it show.... mid-field a full of a similar breed of fancy dans.. that can't/don't want to tackle. And up front, well just don't go there... Remember it took 18 months for our last team to start to gel. in a lower league.. and then we had to spend above our L1 means..
I don't think it's a worse team since our last relegation in all honesty. That team that went down were just eclipsed by the one Steve Parkin managed IMO. We've got to give these lads time to bed in and when they do, I'm confident we'll be OK.
We had some totally dog **** players last time.we.went down with hearts of peas. Jennings, frimpong, dawson, break Shea just to name a.few. I'm pretty sure this squad aren't as bad as that we lost 4 nil at home at the start of that season to wigan. I'll stick my kneck on line and say this group are better than that.
Agree. Provided we get 3 or 4 more (decent quality) players in next week or two then reckon we'll improve over the season. It's just how quickly we can become a solid team and how quickly the players step up. Definitely need a few loan signings, even if it costs a few bob, to bridge the gap. Cost of Relegation £8m+. Cost of a couple of quality loans? £250k each? Not sure, but hopefully we can work it.
Yes don't want to be panic loaning in january like last time either to avoid the drop. A few more quality players in abit of comptition for places mcgeehan izzy lindsay to come back and If we start playing players in their natural position we will have half a chance.
I stick with my initial prediction. We need 2 x strikers and an experienced CH still, else 24th. If we don't get them & we stay up I'm setting up a new religion. "Heckyism", the extra terrestrial, who turns **** to gold.
Steele, Wiseman, Kennedy, Dawson, Mvoto, Cranie, Mellis (O'Brien, 80) Perkins, Dagnall (Scotland, 76), O'Grady, Golbourne. Subs not used:Alnwick, McNulty, Jennings, Cywka, Cofie. That was the starting 11 when we lost 4 nil to wigan on the opening day last time we were relagated.
That's a woeful side, although we did recruit after that fixture. If you put this weekend's squad against that squaf then I'd still fancy this year's crop. Let's just hope that we recruit in between now and the end of the window.
I'm still trying to work out if the powers that be haven't a clue what they are doing Or The powers that be know exactly what they are doing.
