Sorry for being naive but the suggested replacement for seats appear to be, er, seats with further obstructing barriers to impede the view of those who want to sit. Just do what Cardiff had at Ninian Park is necessary and have lower half of stand seating and back terracing but plenty of room to move and dance when we score....
Read the article again.It states “We therefore happily lend our support to the Football Supporters’ Federation in calling for trials of all types’ of safe standing areas and look forward to both the Government and the football authorities recognising and implementing such trials.” i.e not just the approach seen in the photo's.
Any estimations as to what the capacity of Oakwell would be with these safe standing type seats in? Wouldn't like to see it drop below 17,000 but am I right in thinking it would actually have a greater capacity?
Out of interest, the post says 'Barnsley FC back..'. Is it actually Barnsley FC, or a section of independent fans?
