......... I'm paying £45 a month for SKY, £17.99 a month for Orange Broadband and, on average, £18 a month for my BT phone, i.e. £80.99 a month for all three, am I being stupid?

Not looked into the small print but there seems to be lots of adverts flying about for all three 'services' in one package, for half the price. Is that the case and if so, is it a pain getting things cancelled with current suppliers and re-started with the new supplier?

I go with trying to get the best individual deal that suits my needs on each one, with the all 4 for £40 or whatever those are the basic services. So, for example, your Sky TV at £45 will be the full package including Sports and Movies….if you go with Virgin's offer that is the basic package not including sports and movies - eventually when you end up comparing like for like there ends up not being a great deal of difference.

    Maybe

a pain but probably for the best in long run.

I am going to go with the Sky package, but I will wait a while for them to settle down and get some experience of running a broadband service and so I don't have to pay the £45 fee to dump my broadband supplier in my first year of new contract.

Also note, you will still have to pay BT for your line rental, you can't get out of that at £10.50 a month.

Can't do much about sky sports, same everywhere you go including virgin.

Do you pay for a mobile? I get free orange broadband with my orange mobile (£30+ contract). I know it's £30 instead of £17.99 but if you pay £20 for a mobile as well then you'll save.

Also the mobile deal i'm on for £30 gives me more minutes then I can ever use so I never pick up my land line so just pay for the line rental (£11).

So TV is about right, but I found by paying more for my mobile I saved in other areas.

    Yes

    you are being stupid.

I would expect to pay half that with a V+ or Sky+ box.

I pay 30 a month with virgin for all three services plus peak calls. Setanta sports but no sky sports or movies.

For 85 a month with virgin you get the lot..landline, free calls, mobile sim with free callls, 10meg broadband, sky sports, sky movies V+ box etc etc

Thanks for confirming that! ....... anyway ........

I might still be stupid, given what you have just said, but I've just got a better deal from SKY (I think) than what I had before .....

    - Full SKY package incl. Sports and movies - £45/mth
    - SKY Broadband unlimited usage - £10/month
    - SKY Talk - no monthly payment and free evening & weekend calls (but still got to pay BT £11/mth line rental)
    - SKY Multi-room so that me and my son won't have to watch the same thing (or argue about what we are watching!) - £10/month & £49 installation fee

I think that's a better deal ........ but then again it probably adds up to more or less what I was paying before!!!

Oh and the cheeky gets at Orange - had to ring them for the MAC code to swith ISP's and they offered me £9.99 per month internet package and 6 free months to keep my business, just shows what they can do doesn't it ........

so if anybody is with Orange Broadband and paying £17.99 a month, and you don't want to change, just ring them up anyway, tell them you are changing to another ISP and want your MAC code and they will offer you the same deal to keep you....... bingo!!
