Why have so many clubs come to look at this hungarian striker and not signed him.

Hope he turns out to be brilliant, but something dunt feel quite right.

Apparently reading the threads below, Leeds, Watford, Falkirk were all after him. He spent 3 days on trail at Brondby and others.

Seeing all the players that have turned us down for whatever reason, and taking into account the clubs that have not followed up their interest in an international footballer with what seems like a blistering strike record. There must be a reason this deal suits both parties. Why would a proven top flight striker with an international record as good as most english internationals end up here?

Dont get me wrong, i hope hes awesome and maybe we have got lucky for once, but at this moment I need convincing.

I just look at what's happening and see who we can

realistically afford. If we have a cap of 60% of turnover then we ain't gonna be making big money signings, are we?

I've no idea why the other clubs didn't pursue an interest (although we can probably take Falkirk out of the equation!)

Maybe, just maybe, Watford and Leeds wanted to sign him for a longer term deal and he didn't want to commit to anything beyond this season with 2 clubs that could get relegated.
With his international record then he's probably eyeing up a move to a Premiership club (or one that will challenge for promotion from the Championship next season), so we've probably come up with an offer that allows him to show other clubs what he's capable of for the remainder of season and try to get the move he wants in the summer.

Hopefully something that will work to both parties advantage.

Strange that clubs other than Barnsley looked at and decided against Hignett. That's just one example. Shall we try another?
