Alnwick in goal and McNumpty as ever present centre half.

Do they do refunds on season tickets?

The prophets of doom are up and about before Flicker is back in the office.

The season is still over six weeks away, there is plenty of time for Flicker, who is still on holiiday, to target players that he wants.

oh lord... i can see him going on a mazy run with the ball from the back now and losing it on the edge of the center circle. Every sodding game he does this. Think thats why he ended up playing in midfield. :)

I think a few people's got selective memories when it comes to McNulty, he proved in his first season he's more than good enough to play at this level. Lets just hope he can stay injury free & get a full pre-season behind him.

P.S. Also on the back page we're linked with another centre back

I'm just being flippant but I don't rate either player and getting rid of better players in favour of these two is madness.

Alnwick only had7 games or so he looked good but did make an error so has Steele on many occasions. As for Mcnulty when he first came he was a cracking defender imo, he went on to be captain rightly so, he had an injury and just wasn't the same player! Hopefully flicker will work his magic and get him back to his very best!! Only reason I think people don't like him is because he try's to play football not hoooof ball!

We haven't 'got rid' of anyone, they've chosen to leave. Give it till the 1st of August then you can voice your concerns as much as you like if we still haven't signed a centre half. We're not even into pre-season yet.

Doesn't Archey's summary of the Chron say he's looking for a centre half or have l read it wrong?

"Flicker is also keen on bringing in a centre half, and it is reported that we are chasing Southend's Rotherham born defender Ryan Cresswell, after the 25 year old was named in the league 2 team of the year."

Isn't not offering Foster a new contract the same as getting rid of him? Far better player than McNulty.

    Disagree.

Yes Alnwick did only play seven games but the only thing that stands out from his performances are the mistakes.

I think your last comment shows exactly what is wrong with McNumpty. People think he's a footballer because he plays six yard square balls along the eighteen yarder with the inside of his foot, and does bugger all else. Not my idea of a good centre half.

He didn't do that when he came back into the side under Flitcroft.

He didn`t, but he still played with his arms more than his feet and head. Penalty waiting to happen everytime int box, Wrestling that looks more his cuppa tea.

**** I said I were gointa give him a chance this season.

Not sure I could compare the two, McNulty had a half decent first season in my opinion, probably a better one than Foster did. But spent the majority of last season injured. I think to continue to improve, we've got to move on certain players, and I think Foster was one of them, especially if we wish to continue improving.

There's nothing in the Chronicle suggesting McNulty will be our commanding centre back.
