FACT: Barcelona midfielder Xavi managed 96/96 passes vs PSG tonight. The first ever 100% pass accuracy in the Champions League.”

Easily done when you spend the game passing in 5 yd triangles.

That's not a bad stat but I think he'd struggle to get into our midfield

Fair comment that about 5 yard triangles. No doubt, Barcelona have some unbelieveable footballers but the pundits often bang on about their superior passing ability. In my mind, any professional footballer should be able to consistantly complete a 5/10 yard pass. What makes it easier for them is the movement of the other player into space.

What makes Barca stand out on so much is that there are always options for the player on the ball. Add to that the incredible workrate they have off the ball and it's no wonder the possession stats are always lob sided.

Noticed that against Man City as well. It's hard enough keeping track of opposition players when the movement is so good but then in the rare occasion when we did win the ball back our players were pressed and muscled off it again.
